In 2002 graduated from Rostov state transport university majoring in economy and management at the railway transport enterprise.

From 2011 till 2014 held the post of Director of the Rostov-on-Don electric locomotive repair plant – branch of JSC Zheldorremmash.

From 2014 till 2016 worked as the Director of the Ulan-Ude locomotive and car repair plant – branch of JSC Zheldorremmash.

In 2016 appointed Deputy General Director of plant repair, LLC Locomotive technology.

Alexander Mavrin was appointed General Director of LocoTech LLC in October 2018.

On April 14, 2021, he was appointed First Deputy General Director of LocoTech LLC for operational and technical activities.

On May 17, 2022, he was appointed General Director of JSC Zheldorremmash.
