These funds are scheduled to be spent for the inspection and purification of local treatment facilities, waste collection, equipment of waste storage areas, acquisition of containers for industrial waste collection, removal and purification of soil polluted with black oil, development of environmental documentation and other activities. A series of clean-up days at the enterprises of the group and a large-scale campaign to clean up the shores of Lake Baikal has also been scheduled.

Attention to environmental protection issues is one of the priorities of development of LocoTech group. The company has the concept of ecological development (the “Green Doctrine"), which involves the introduction of innovative technologies and investments, as well as various environmental activities.

The main goal of LocoTech in the sphere of environmental protection is to minimize the negative environmental impacts. The “Green Doctrine” entails observance of environmental protection law of the Russian Federation, the implementation of environmental projects, ensuring complete production environmental control, environmental audit, etc.

In 2016 in locomotive depots of TMH-Service the environmental activities have been conducted for more than 130 million rubles, 86 projects as well as standards on emissions, discharges and waste have been developed, specialized equipment has been purchased. At the Zheldorremmash plants 56.7 million rubles have been spent on the implementation of environmental initiatives. The gas and dust trapping equipment has been repaired, a project of operation of groundwater intake and mining lease at a number of enterprises has been approved for the account of these funds. For arrangement of work of ecologists the software complex Eco-expert has been installed. In addition, in February, 2017 the memorandum was signed between the head of the Republic of Buryatia and Ulan-Ude locomotive repair plant on the cooperation in the area of environmental protection.
