25.09.2018 | LocoTech and ÖBB-Technische Services-GmbH have signed an agreement on cooperation in the maintenance of locomotives for the Austrian railways

LocoTech Group and ÖBB-Technische Services-GmbH have signed an agreement on cooperation in the area of upgrading, maintenance and leasing of the locomotives for the Austrian railways. The document has been signed by LocoTech Director General Yuri Degtyarev and ÖBB-Technische Services-GmbH Managing Directors Andreas Zwerger and Matias Moser. 

The agreement's goal is to increase the technical readiness of locomotives, to develop innovative solutions for the upgrading the traction rolling stock, and joint servicing of ÖBB-Technische Services-GmbH locomotives in the Eastern Europe. 

The reach of cooperation covers Austria, Hungary and the countries of South-Eastern Europe. ÖBB-Technische Services-GmbH is interested in upgrading of the locomotives of the BR1144 series in the amount of up to 80 units. The parties have agreed that at the first stage of cooperation, LocoTech will develop a technical concept for the upgrading of electric locomotives operated by Austrian railways. Based on it, the specification and schedule of works will be drawn up.

“We highly appreciate the partnership with the Austrian railways and are interested in developing such cooperation in the Eastern Europe. We will make every effort, use all the experience and competence of our specialists to ensure the quality of works,” said Yuri Degtyarev.

The leaders of ÖBB-Technische Services-GmbH noted that the signed agreement has excellent prospects for development, especially given the existing successful experience in relations with the Russian colleagues. 

ÖBB Technische Services GmbH was founded in 2004, the company includes 25 companies for the repair and maintenance of rolling stock in Austria and Central and Eastern Europe. The personnel count reaches 3.6 thousand people.

Over 230 customers rely on the extensive experience and broad competencies of the company's engineers, who carry out a full range of work - from current to capital repairs.

The strategy of ÖBB Technische Services GmbH is to expand the business along the most important European railway corridors.
