19.12.2018 | LocoTech introduces an electronic certificate of production

LocoTech Group of Companies is implementing the “Electronic Certificate of Production” project. The system is being implemented as part of a programme for digitization and automation of production and will allow to optimize and increase its efficiency. 

The system is now implemented at Chelyabinsk electric locomotive repair plant. Previously, it was introduced in Ulan-Ude locomotive and car repair plant and Ussuriysk locomotive repair plant. Currently, the project is being replicated to other network enterprises. 

“Digitalization or digital transformation of business is a natural development of digital technologies. LocoTech dynamically implements digital projects, and an electronic certificate of production is one of them. In addition, we are developing the concept of digital development - Digital Vision, before the end of the year we will define its main directions and begin implementation”, said Dmitry Sergienko, managing director for digital technology development at LocoTech. 

The basic principle of the electronic certificate of production is that the repair of the locomotive is monitored at each stage: the programme monitors the status of the work, assesses their duration, and also captures typical remarks arising at each stage. 

The point is that the whole cycle of work is divided into items, and the list of actions is determined for each of them. When a locomotive goes from one stage to another, an acceptance takes place: one team notes that it performed the works that were expected of it according to the checklist, and the receiving party notes that the works has been done with no remarks. All this is recorded in the electronic certificate, that is the control over the execution of operations becomes visual. 
  
“The locomotives repairing schedule is digitized”, explains Anton Napolskikh, chief process engineer at the Chelyabinsk electric locomotive repair plant. - Repair of a locomotive can be viewed online by any worker of the plant or company management.” 
  
At the same time, it is important that the implementation of the system is bound to the wages of employees and motivates production units to maintain the rhythmicity of work and quality improvement. The coefficient of rhythmicity assesses the timeliness of works performed by teams, and the coefficient of quality - the absence of comments or faults.
