10.01.2018 | LocoTech signed a contract for 243.9 billion rubles with the Russian Railways for the repair of locomotives until 2022

LocoTech Group of Companies and JSC Russian Railways signed a contract for the repair of a traction rolling stock worth a total of 243.9 billion rubles (including VAT) for the period of up to 2022. The works will be carried out of by JSC Zheldorremmash. Within the document signed it is planned to perform repairs of about 14.8 ths. locomotive sections.

In particular, 46.5 billion rubles will be allocated for the replacement of components and assemblies with the expired life.

The purpose of signing the contract is to maintain the proper technical condition of the locomotive fleet of JSC Russian Railways, as well as to fulfil the established scope of locomotive repair programme in accordance with the long-term program of development of the Russian railways.

Yuri Degtyarev, Director General of LokoTeh, said: "Signing of this contract is very important to us and will allow to estimate the resources and implement a long-term investment planning. We plan to direct more than 10 billion rubles for the upgrade of Zheldorremmash plant facilities, where about 1.2 billion rubles have already been allocated in 2017. For the customer this means improving the quality of maintenance and reliability of traction rolling stock".

Zheldorremmash is a network of locomotive repair factories, based on which all kinds of medium and major overhauls of locomotives, production of components is performed.

The company was founded in 2009 on the basis of the Directorate for repairing the traction rolling stock of OJSC RZD within the implementation of the structural reform of the railway transport.

Zheldorremmash is the absolute market leader in the production of spare parts and repair of locomotives in Russia and the countries of the post-Soviet region. The company includes 9 locomotive repair plants across the country and an engineering centre.
