13.02.2018 | Yaroslavl ERZ plans to increase the production plan by 30.2% in 2018

Yaroslavl electric locomotive repair factory (YaERZ, part of the LocoTech Group of Companies) plans to increase the number of locomotives released after repair by 30.2% to 169 sections in 2018. It should be noted that in 2017 YaERZ released 118 sections of locomotives from repair running on 100% of the plan.

It is planned to increase the repair program, in particular, using the 5S method. Thanks to its introduction last year the performance of all departments improved. The greatest effect was achieved in wheel and equipment shops. To monitor the implementation of the 5S system at the plant, regular inspections are conducted to identify the most effective stations. The best employees are rewarded.

Yaroslal ERZ has been actively working on the development of the production system and the introduction of lean production methods. In 2017, the plant carried out 96 events and made proposals with a total economic effect of 745 thousand rubles. In particular, one of the projects has allowed to optimize material consumption on the ED-118 anchor section.

In addition, YaERZ introduced a system of visual management in production of electric machines. Visual materials on standards of equipment maintenance, standards of workplaces are installed in the workshop, the stands with indicators of production system and streamlining, as well as the indicators of the workshop are placed. The employees may independently monitor the compliance of their workplaces with the accepted standards and monitor the level of performance indicators any time. As a result, 88% of the workplaces in the workshop comply with the high level of the working space arrangement.

Another factor that influenced the improvement of indicators was the application of embedded quality practice. Its basic principles are "do not produce faulty goods, do not accept faulty goods, do not pass faulty goods over". In order to prevent production of faulty goods in the first place, it is impermissible to violate the adopted technology. The task of the quality policy is to move from the deterrent measures that help not to miss the faulty goods to the warning ones to remove the prerequisites leading to occurrence of the faulty goods to a maximum possible extent.

All the detected shortcomings are corrected, and information about them is laid down in the technical requirements for the new products. Thus, the personal professionalism of each employee directly affects the reputation of the manufacturer. And this is a mutually beneficial relationship, both for the employee and for the employer.
